8 week fetal heart

The transabdominal scan  image demonstrates a large fetal pole with a beating fetal heart seen in the middle part of the body. The thickened uterus, decidual lining and early placenta can also be seen. A fetus and fetal heart are usually able to be seen by about 6 weeks in a transabdominal scan and are normally easily seen in a normal 8 week gestation intra-uterine pregnancy.
