Apical 4 chamber view

Normal apical 4 chamber view (which is a little off centre so does not show the RA or TV well), demonstrating the left ventricle above the MV and LA, then the descending aorta, on the right of the screen. On the right is the RV with the moderator band just visible at the apex and the TV (which arises just above the MV from the septum on this view).

Slightly rotated apical 4 chamber view showing good details of the ventricles (right on the left, left on the right!), mitral and tricuspid valves, but not of the atria throughout the cardiac cycle. The descending aorta can be seen behind the left atrium with the vertebral column seen behind it.
