Latest updates
Definition of MI
The Definition of MI page has been updated to include the ANZCS 2025 definitions.
Priority of assessment in ACS
The Clinical assessment of ACS page has been updated with a short segment on priorities of assessment.
CK subforms in ACS removed
The Other biomarkers in ACS page has been considerably shortened with the removal of information about CK subforms as they no longer have a role to play in assessment. Nice to have something less to know when it seems there is always more!
Heparin in ACS – correction
The ACS Management page has been updated with an improved section on heparins and a corrected dose for UFH. Thanks to Michael for letting us know about the dose error.
Correction – sit patients up 30 degrees in penetrating eye trauma
The Ocular trauma page has been corrected to indicate that patients with penetrating eye trauma should be sat head up 30 degrees, not lie supine as previously indicated. Yet again thanks to Michael for letting us know about the error.
Correction – use absorbable sutures for fascial repair, not non absorbable ones
The Wound repair page has been corrected to indicate that absorbable sutures should be used for fascial repair, not non absorbable ones as previously stated. Thanks again to Michael for letting us know about this error.
Correction – Hyperkalaemia increases PR and QT intervals, not shortens them!
The Hyperkalaemia page has been corrected to indicate that Hyperkalaemia increases PR and QT intervals and does not shorten them as previous stated. Thanks to Michael for letting us know about this (hopefully obvious to most of you) error.
US interpretation poll results
The US interpretation poll is now closed, with 60% of respondents believing that US findings should influence clinical practice by anyone confident in their interpretation, not just those with ACEM or higher level accreditation.
