The Post arrest care page has been updated with information about the outcome following ROSC of patients without pupillary reflexes.
Blood group O and haemorrhage
The Complications of blood transfusion page has been updated with information about how blood group O is associated with a higher risk of haemorrhage and a lower risk of thrombosis than other blood group types. Perhaps we should be considering this when deciding on therapies such as thrombolysis and treatment of low risk thrombosis?
Transthoracic impedance and respiration – correction
The Electrical cardioversion page has been corrected to indicate that transthoracic impedance is decreased by expiration not by inspiration as previously stated. Thanks to Simon for picking this up and letting us know.
CT of PCA infarction
A CT image of posterior cerebral infarction following raised ICP has been added to the Assessment of intracranial pressure page.
AF reversion options – correction
The AF reversion options flowchart has been corrected to indicate that amiodarone should be given if there is IHD, structural heart disease or age > 55 years. Previously it indicated that it should not be given in these patients. Thanks to Sally for picking this up.

Normal saline or ‘balanced’ solutions?
The Intravenous fluids page has been updated to include some additional information about the adverse effects of Normal saline. A small table comparing the 2 fluids has been added.
