The Management of COPD page has been updated with the addition of the Haldane effect as a cause for CO2 retention in COPD and the removal of reduction of hypoxic drive of ventilation. Thanks to Farzad for the suggestion.
The Stroke prevention in atrial fibrillation page has been updated including some minor modifications regarding anticoagulation (and timing of) prior to cardioversion.
The Femoral fractures page has been updated including some minor changes regarding physical examination, resizing of images and fixing missing images.
A number of images and figures that were not being hidden when the Hide images filter is applied (Versions 1 and 3 only) have been identified and fixed. They should now disappear whenever the appropriate filter is applied.
The muscle relaxant poll has now closed with about twice as many people choosing rocuronium over suxamethonium as their preferred agent. When we ran this poll in 2013 the results were almost exactly the opposite (2/3 of people preferred suxamethonium).
The Post arrest care page has been updated with information about the outcome following ROSC of patients without pupillary reflexes.
The Complications of blood transfusion page has been updated with information about how blood group O is associated with a higher risk of haemorrhage and a lower risk of thrombosis than other blood group types. Perhaps we should be considering this when deciding on therapies such as thrombolysis and treatment of low risk thrombosis?
